Trinidad School District Welcomes New School Career-Connected Learning Coordinator

Ms. Jackie Crabtree joined the THS team as the new Career-Connected Learning Coordinator. When asked about her interest in the position, she said, “This position is a culmination of my passion for education and my commitment to preparing students for success beyond the classroom.” With over two decades of experience in various educational leadership roles, including serving as a Superintendent and Principal in rural Colorado schools, she has witnessed firsthand the transformative power of connecting education with real-world experiences.

Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to fostering environments where students and educators can thrive. Her leadership approach is centered around collaboration, inclusivity, and empowering others. As the Career-Connected Learning Coordinator, she added, “I look forward to leveraging my experience in developing strategic partnerships with local industries, businesses, and higher education institutions.”

A key focus of the Career-Connected Learning Coordinator is collaborating closely with Trinidad State College and the Emergent Campus-Trinidad to provide our students with meaningful internship opportunities. By connecting students with professionals in dynamic fields at the Emergent Campus, we can offer them hands-on experience and insight into technology careers that are shaping the future of our community and beyond.

It is the goal of Trinidad High School to not only prepare our students for their future but also inspire them to pursue their passions with confidence. Ms. Crabtree believes in providing students with immersive learning opportunities, so students can be better equipped for the demands of the modern workforce and become productive, successful, and fulfilled individuals.

According to Ms. Crabtree, “Trinidad has a vibrant community with so much potential, and I am excited to work with our local stakeholders to build a program that supports our students’ diverse career aspirations and ensures they are ready for whatever path they choose.” On a more personal note, Ms. Crabtree shared,  "In my free time, you can often find me out on the trails, capturing nature through my camera lens or escaping into a good mystery movie marathon on Netflix. Long drives to work are perfect for getting lost in an audiobook. Whenever I get the chance, I love to travel and explore new places. This summer, I had the pleasure of visiting family in Ronan, Montana, and catching up with friends in the charming towns of Hot Springs and Eureka Springs, Arkansas."
