Trinidad High School welcomes Mr. Zack Stockbridge to the math department. Born in Minnesota, Mr. Stockbridge’s life journey has taken him across the United States, with his youth spent in Northern California and the suburbs of Washington, D.C. His passion for teaching, adventure, and science makes him a valuable addition to the school.
Mr. Stockbridge’s teaching career began in Chicago, where he developed his love for education. He later moved to North Carolina, teaching high school science at a Bill and Melinda Gates startup school for four years. For six more years, he taught math and science at a North Carolina community college before transitioning to online teaching, which he continues today. He also teaches for the prestigious American Museum of Natural History.
Two years ago, Mr. Stockbridge made the move to Trinidad, drawn by its affordability and the presence of a close friend. Since then, he has embraced the community and looks forward to making a positive impact at the high school.
Outside of the classroom, Mr. Stockbridge is an adventurer at heart. Alongside his wife, Jen, he has completed some of the world’s most challenging hiking trails, including the 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail, the 2,600-mile Pacific Crest Trail, and the 3,000-mile Continental Divide Trail. His adventures also extend to the night sky—he is a skilled astrophotographer, capturing the beauty of the cosmos.
